Daily Bread 2-3-17
Hebrews 4:9-12
9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11 Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
ref. - Jer 23:29 - Is not my word as like a fire? saith the Lord; like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
Rev 1:16 - And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
1 Cor 14:24,25 - But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:
Never give up and never give in! No matter what happens in your lives, keep serving God and stay in the Church. Even if you have to sit in the very last pew, stay in the Church. The reward is not a reward if you do not do anything to achieve it so stay faithful to God. Too many are leaving Church and leaving God because they truly do not believe that all of their answers are in the word of God. When it cuts them they go looking for the world's band-aid, when it corrects them they go looking for another scripture or answer that suits their needs, when it blesses them, they forget where it came from and give their pastor, themselves, or the world the credit. They go to other places they go to worldly places, because their trust is not fully in the Lord. There is still time to come back and there is still time to reconcile with your Lord if you will just listen to the word of God for what it is, a two edged sword. But not just any two edged sword, it is sharper than any other. So the rebuke, the correction, the advice, the learning, and, most importantly in the end, the blessing, is better than anything that the world can give us. If we do not trust in the Lord we will go looking for answers somewhere else, mostly in the world and from worldly people. And though we think that they are there to help us, they will destroy our Spiritual lives and give us temporary satisfaction or answers to suit their own needs. But this scripture is here today to try and get us to stay in the word of God. All of your advice is in there, all good things are supported in there. When the word of God cuts you it is trying to get a part out of you that does not belong. When the advice is not what you think is right, look into yourself and say; am I relying on God , or is my faith in man? If it is not in God, you will not achieve the rest and peace that is spoken of in this scripture. You must find a way, first through prayer and then through obedience, to learn what the word of God means and believe it. No matter what is wrong or right in your life, the word of God will bring it out and show us the way of righteousness. If we are to be the example of Christ we must become more Christ-like. Jesus told us, All that I give you comes from my Father and I hold nothing back. The word of God is true, it is yes and Amen, in it lies our answers to everything pertaining to this world and to the heavens. So let us strive to enter into that rest where we will not need to be sharpened any longer, or corrected any more, let us strive for perfection here on earth so that we may someday enter in to the world of the Spirit of God. When this occurs we will leave this world and pass into the Spiritual realm, where God dwells and the rest begins! Time to get ready!!! Have a great day!!!
